Tama Tech, Amusement park in Hino, Japan
Tama Tech was a leisure park in Hino that offered rides and activities centered around vehicles and motorsport. The facility spread across extensive grounds with attractions designed for guests of all ages.
Honda opened the park in October 1961 and operated it through subsidiary Mobilityland until closing in September 2009. The grounds served for nearly five decades as a public space for automotive entertainment and technology demonstrations.
The park represented Japan's post-war industrial growth by combining entertainment with automotive technology demonstrations and public vehicle testing opportunities.
Guests could use different Honda vehicles and mechanical attractions throughout the grounds. During winter months an ice skating rink was added for skaters.
Honda tested new products like the Z100 minibike in front of the public here. After successful demonstrations at the park, the model later entered mass production.
