Jangchung Arena, Indoor sports arena in Jung District, South Korea
The Jangchung Arena contains a field of 11,399 square meters and provides seating capacity for 4,507 spectators in Seoul's central district.
Built in 1959 and completed in 1963 under architect Kim Jung-soo's direction, the structure started as an army gymnasium before its transformation into a public venue.
The venue serves as home court for professional volleyball teams GS Caltex Seoul Kixx and Seoul Woori Card Woori Won in South Korea's top league.
Visitors reach the arena through Dongguk University subway station, located 180 meters away, with multiple bus lines stopping near the entrance.
In 1966, the arena witnessed Kim Ki-soo's boxing victory against Nino Benvenuti, marking the first world championship title for a South Korean boxer.
