Jangchung Arena, Indoor sports arena in Jung District, South Korea

Jangchung Arena is a sports building in central Seoul with a playing area of about 11,400 square meters (122,700 sq ft). It holds around 4,500 spectators and is primarily used for volleyball competitions.

The building was constructed between 1959 and 1963 and originally served as an army gymnasium before becoming a public sports venue. This transformation reflects Seoul's growing focus on modern athletic facilities during the post-war period.

The venue hosts professional volleyball teams and plays a central role in Seoul's sports scene. Spectators gather here regularly to watch matches and experience the energy of competitive play.

Dongguk University subway station is about 180 meters (590 ft) away and offers the nearest train connection. Several bus routes also stop near the entrance, making access straightforward.

In 1966, a boxing match took place here in which Kim Ki-soo defeated Nino Benvenuti, earning South Korea's first world championship title in the sport. This historic moment made the venue significant in Korea's athletic history.
