Jezkazgan

The city stretches along the Kenggir River reservoir at 300 meters elevation, surrounded by copper mines and metallurgical facilities in central Kazakhstan.

Founded in 1938 for copper mining operations, Zhezkazhan developed into a major metallurgical hub with the construction of processing facilities in 1973.
