State Nature Reservat "Akzhaiyk"

The reserve encompasses 111,500 hectares of wetlands, steppes, and floodplain areas within the Atyrau region at coordinates 46°58'12"N and 51°45'0"E.

The State Nature Reservat Akzhaiyk received its official protected status on February 6, 2009, under the jurisdiction of Kazakhstan's Ministry of Ecology.

The Forestry and Wildlife Committee maintains this reserve as part of Kazakhstan's commitment to preserving natural ecosystems for future generations.

The reserve operates under IUCN Management Category VI guidelines, permitting controlled access for research activities and environmental education initiatives.

This protected territory serves as a nesting ground for migratory birds and contains diverse flora adapted to the semi-arid climate conditions.
