Patuxai, Victory arch in Chanthabuly District, Laos.
The Patuxai monument rises 49 meters high with four towers representing cardinal directions and includes detailed stone carvings across its surface.
Constructed between 1957 and 1968, this arch commemorates Laotian soldiers who fought for independence from French colonial administration during World War II.
The structure merges French architectural elements with traditional Laotian designs, displaying mythological creatures and Buddhist symbols throughout its decorative patterns.
Visitors can climb seven floors to reach the observation deck, which provides complete views of Vientiane and the Mekong River landscape.
The concrete used to build this monument came from materials originally designated for an airport runway funded by the United States government.
