Klaipeda Sculpture Park, Sculpture garden and park in Klaipeda, Lithuania
The 12-hectare park displays 116 modern sculptures created by 67 Lithuanian artists, forming an L-shaped outdoor gallery between four main streets.
The land housed the Memel Central Cemetery from 1820 to 1959, containing over 40,000 burials, with several remaining tombstones visible among sculptures.
The collection represents different artistic expressions through varied styles and materials, demonstrating the development of Lithuanian contemporary sculpture from 1977 to 1991.
The History Museum of Lithuania Minor manages the park, which remains open throughout the day and night with QR codes providing information about each sculpture.
The park integrates modern art installations with preserved cemetery elements, creating a space where historical remembrance meets contemporary artistic expression.
