The History Museum of Lithuania Minor, Regional history museum in Klaipėda, Lithuania
The History Museum of Lithuania Minor occupies a 1774 Baroque building with an extensive vineyard in central Klaipėda, displaying regional artifacts and documents.
Founded in 1924 by Lithuanian and German intellectuals, the museum started with 84 exhibits and expanded to house thousands of historical items by 1980.
The museum presents exhibitions about Baltic tribes, including Curonian and Skalvian peoples, showcasing their burial customs and traditional way of life.
Visitors can explore the museum Monday through Thursday from 8:00 to 17:00 and Friday from 8:00 to 15:45 at Didžioji Vandens Street.
The collection includes Roman coins from the 2nd and 3rd centuries, along with 600 Iron Age artifacts discovered in the Lithuania Minor region.
