Diekirch, Administrative center in Canton of Diekirch, Luxembourg.

Diekirch is a municipality in Luxembourg that sits between the hills of Haardt, Goldknapp, Seitert, and Herrenberg, with the Sûre river flowing through it. The administrative center is located at an elevation of approximately 396 meters.

The settlement began in the late 8th century when Charlemagne brought Saxon populations to this region for conversion to Christianity. This early founding shaped how the location developed as an important center in the area.

The National Museum of Military History displays soldier experiences during World War II through life-size exhibits and over 100,000 objects. This collection allows visitors to understand how people lived and struggled during wartime.

The municipality has three secondary schools, healthcare facilities, and social services available to residents and visitors. Public transportation connects the place well to other areas of Luxembourg.

The center features Luxembourg's first pedestrian zone, where colorful donkey statues stand at street corners as symbols of local identity. These unusual figures shape the character of the place in a playful way.
