Villa Pauly

Villa Pauly is located at number 57 Boulevard de la Pétrusse and displays architectural features from the Late Medieval and Renaissance periods. The building later served administrative purposes and is now open to visitors.

From 1940 to 1944 the house served as headquarters for the secret police during German occupation. This institution was central to suppressing the population throughout this period.

The building now serves as a Documentation Center that gathers and preserves records of people who resisted during wartime. Visitors can learn how ordinary citizens took action against occupation.

The house can be visited on weekday afternoons from Tuesday to Friday. Groups of visitors may arrange appointments outside these standard hours.

The basement rooms contained interrogation chambers where many people were held during occupation. These underground spaces are now part of the Documentation Center and reveal the reality of that era.
