Wintrange Castle

Wintrange Castle is a Renaissance-era fortress distinguished by four prominent towers and situated within a private walled park. The structure contains twenty-one rooms with ten bedrooms and features its own well system for water supply.

The castle was built in 1610 by Alexandre de Musset and received additional fortifications during the Thirty Years War. It underwent further modifications in the 1700s to suit changing needs and styles.

The castle embodies Renaissance architecture typical of Luxembourg's wealthy landowners during this period. It shows how prominent families of the 1600s chose to design and arrange their residences.

The surrounding park is private and not directly open to visitors, so viewing is possible from outside the walls. The nearby bird sanctuary offers alternative walking paths and natural observation areas in the surrounding landscape.

The walled park contains over two hundred different tree species, including rare varieties maintained across generations. Within the courtyard stands an orangery with two distinct floors and cellars below, revealing the former affluence of its owners.
