Upper Sûre Natural Park

Upper Sûre Natural Park is a protected area in northwestern Luxembourg covering six municipalities and featuring a central reservoir. The landscape includes forests, meadows, and water bodies that define the park's environment.

The reservoir was completed in 1961 to supply drinking water to the region. The park itself was established in 1999 as part of Luxembourg's effort to protect natural environments.

The visitor centre, located in a former cloth factory, displays traditional weaving practices with working spinning looms on display. You can watch how these historical crafts are demonstrated for guests exploring the site.

The park offers more than 500 kilometers of marked walking trails suitable for various fitness levels. Motorboats are not permitted on the lake, but you can explore the water through alternative means while enjoying views of the surrounding landscape.

The reservoir can be explored by solar-powered boats, offering an environmentally friendly way to experience the water. This approach reflects the park's commitment to sustainable practices.
