Tangier Cathedral, Catholic cathedral in central Tangier, Morocco
The white modernist cathedral features high ceilings, vast windows, and a prominent tower that stands against the Tangier skyline.
Spanish architect Luis Martinez-Feduchi designed the cathedral between 1953 and 1961, replacing an older Franciscan chapel near the Spanish consulate.
The cathedral exhibits Spanish modernist architecture through its geometric forms, incorporating stained glass windows created by artist Arcadio Blasco.
The cathedral maintains regular visiting hours and welcomes both worshippers and visitors interested in exploring its architectural features and religious significance.
The underground crypt contains the remains of Father José María Lerchundi, who served thirty years as a missionary in Morocco.
