Mokta Hafsa, Desert village in Drâa-Tafilalet region, Morocco
Mokta Hafsa is a village in southeastern Morocco featuring traditional stone structures set at 800 meters elevation in desert terrain. It sits near Rissani in the Drâa-Tafilalet region.
The village was selected in 2017 as one of four locations for the Ambassadors Days program during the 4L Trophy Rally. This recognition brought attention to this remote settlement.
Residents practice traditional Moroccan desert customs and farming methods suited to the dry climate. Daily life here revolves around communal gatherings and the rhythms of agriculture adapted to harsh conditions.
A new school complex was built with classrooms, sanitary facilities, a water well, and kindergarten spaces. Visitors should prepare for basic accommodations and plan local transportation in advance.
Two French content creators donated 35,000 euros toward educational infrastructure development in the settlement. This substantial support came through their participation in the 4L Trophy Rally.
