Church of the Nativity of the Theotokos, Skopje, Eastern Orthodox church in central Skopje, North Macedonia.
The Church of the Nativity of the Theotokos features a three-aisled stone basilica design with ornate marble and wood carvings throughout the structure.
Construction began in 1809 under Damjan Jankulov, and after his death, his son Andrey Damyanov completed the church, which was consecrated on May 1, 1835.
The church established a convent school in its courtyard that evolved into the Bulgarian Pedagogical School of Skopje by 1895, promoting education in the region.
Located on the left bank of River Vardar, the church underwent complete renovation in 2008 to restore its architectural features following damage from previous conflicts.
A preserved stone slab from the church contains inscriptions that document its historical identity and connections to different Orthodox jurisdictions through time.
