Built between 1451 and 1469 during Sultan Mehmed II's reign, the bridge served as a crucial link between Eastern and Western trade routes in the Balkans.
The Stone Bridge appears in yellow-gold on Skopje's coat of arms and flag, representing the architectural identity of North Macedonia's capital city.
