Warrior on Horseback

Warrior on Horseback is a bronze equestrian statue in Macedonia Square, Skopje, mounted on a cylindrical concrete column. Bronze soldiers and lions positioned at its base function as part of a fountain installation.

The statue was erected in 2011 to commemorate two decades of independence following North Macedonia's separation from Yugoslavia. It became a symbol of political transformation and urban renewal during that era.

This monument is part of a major urban development initiative that reshaped Skopje with classical architectural elements and public sculptures. Visitors today encounter a blend of ancient-inspired styles throughout the central area.
