The National Library maintains a collection of 60,000 titles including books, periodicals, audio recordings, videos, and digital resources in its modern facilities.
Founded in 1984, the library traces its origins to the French Institute of Black Africa established during the French colonial period in Koulouba.
The institution preserves manuscripts, publications, and documents that represent the history and traditions of Mali through its extensive collections.
Visitors can access documents free of charge on-site and obtain a membership card to borrow selected items from the collection.
Since 2004, the library houses the African Photography House, which organizes the African Photography Encounters biennial event.
