Halin

The rectangular walled city stretches over two miles in length and one mile in width, featuring twelve gateways and defensive moats on three sides.

Halin emerged as a significant Pyu settlement in the 2nd century BC and remained the largest city until the 9th century AD before Sri Ksetra gained prominence.

Archaeological excavations uncovered silver coins, pottery, jewelry, and stone slabs with Pyu inscriptions revealing the civilization's trading connections with India and China.

The site requires travel from Mandalay through local roads to reach the archaeological area, which contains a museum displaying artifacts from various excavations.

Three sets of standing stone slabs indicate a megalithic culture, while protective circles of cacti now surround key archaeological findings throughout the site.
