Halin

Halin is an ancient walled city that stretches for several kilometers and is protected by water channels on three sides. The site is divided into different zones connected by twelve gateways that once served as entry points to various sections of the former settlement.

The city emerged in ancient times as a major settlement and remained one of the largest centers in the region for centuries. Its importance declined as political power shifted to other locations in the following era.

The remains show that people here traded with India and China, as proven by ancient coins and inscribed stones. The crafting techniques visible in the pottery and jewelry pieces uncovered suggest a thriving community with skills in metalwork and design.

The site lies away from main roads and is only reached by local routes. A museum at the location displays many excavated objects and helps visitors understand the history of the place.

Multiple groups of standing stone slabs reveal an ancient culture that erected them for specific purposes. The ground today is surrounded by cactus barriers that protect important archaeological finds from disturbance.
