Villa Roseville

Villa Roseville is a two-story residential building in Attard featuring Art Nouveau characteristics and a polychrome facade. The windows display floral sculptural surrounds and relief work, while the overall structure shows North Italian architectural influences.

Construction occurred in two phases: architect Alessandro Manara completed the ground floor in 1912, then Emanuele Borg added the first floor in 1921. This staggered development shaped the building's evolution over nearly a decade.

The interior spaces display Egyptian-inspired patterns and decorative details that reflect early 20th century European design trends. These stylistic choices remain visible in the ornamental elements throughout the rooms.

The building now serves as a retirement home and can be viewed from outside to appreciate its architectural details. The best time to visit is during daytime when light brings out the colors of the facade and its decorative elements.

The building represents one of Malta's rare examples of Art Nouveau architecture, featuring design elements similar to those found in Brussels and Central Europe. This European orientation makes it an uncommon architectural example on the island.
