The Church of Our Lady of Sorrows is a Baroque building with a rectangular doorway, pilasters, and a statue of the Virgin Mary on its facade that defines the structure's appearance. The building was constructed during the plague epidemic of 1592-1593 as a chapel honoring Saint Roch near a cemetery for plague victims. The establishment of an Augustinian convent in 1617 later led to the church's rededication and shaped its ongoing importance.
