Villa Guardamangia extends over 16,791 square feet, featuring 18 rooms, stables, gardens, and a traditional war shelter built with local limestone.
Between 1949 and 1951, Princess Elizabeth and Prince Philip resided at Villa Guardamangia while he served as a Royal Navy officer in Malta.
The Grade 2 monument combines vernacular and neoclassical architectural elements, representing the traditional Maltese residential construction methods of its time.
The Maltese government acquired the property in 2019, and Heritage Malta currently manages the restoration process for future public access.
Princess Elizabeth experienced regular daily life at Villa Guardamangia before her ascension to the throne, marking a period of relative normality.
