Mercury Tower, Mixed-use tower in St Julian's, Malta.
Mercury Tower is a 122-meter tall building with 32 floors located in St. Julian's, Malta. The structure combines residential apartments, a hotel, restaurants, and a shopping center, while its facade features a distinctive twist between levels 10 and 13.
The building was constructed on the site of the restored Mercury House, which dates to 1903 and originally served as Malta's telecommunications headquarters. This historical structure was preserved and incorporated into the modern tower, giving it new purpose.
The building serves as a gathering place where locals and visitors shop, dine, and spend time together. The mix of retail, dining, and hospitality spaces creates a social hub that connects different parts of the neighborhood.
The shopping center in the building is open on most days and offers free parking for shoppers. The location is easy to reach and features clear pathways through its various shops and dining options.
The tower was one of the final projects designed by the renowned architectural firm Zaha Hadid before the architect's passing in 2016. This connection to the celebrated designer makes the structure a notable example of contemporary Mediterranean architecture.
