Sultan Ibrahim Stadium, Football stadium in Iskandar Puteri, Malaysia
Sultan Ibrahim Stadium is a football venue in Iskandar Puteri with seating for roughly 40,000 people. Its exterior is lit by red, blue, and white LED lights that represent the colors of Johor state's flag.
Construction began in January 2016 and was completed in February 2020. The project developed as a major sports facility for the Johor region.
The structure draws from traditional Malaysian design, with its shape evoking the curves of a banana leaf.
The venue has roughly 4,300 parking spaces, corporate areas, a training center, and a multi-level retail space. Access is well organized and the location is convenient to reach by various transport options.
This was Malaysia's first stadium to feature a natural grass field without an athletic track, bringing spectators closer to the action. This design choice creates a more direct connection between fans and the game.
