Amsterdamse Bos, Recreation area in Amstelveen, Netherlands
The Amsterdamse Bos stretches across 1,000 hectares, featuring lakes, meadows, paths, and forests, making it three times larger than Central Park in New York.
The park construction started in the 1930s as an unemployment relief project, with the final completion occurring in the 1970s when the last tree was planted.
The Amsterdamse Bos Theater presents performances under the open sky throughout summer, offering theater productions and concerts in the natural setting.
Visitors can access 50 kilometers of cycling paths, seven walking routes, swimming ponds, and canoe networks throughout the expansive forest landscape.
The Bosbaan, opened in 1937, stands as the oldest artificial rowing course globally and has hosted multiple World Rowing Championships.
