Dwervelwind, Spinning roller coaster in Toverland, Netherlands
Dwervelwind is a steel spinning roller coaster at Toverland, a theme park in the southern Netherlands. The track rises to 21 meters (about 69 feet) and the cars spin freely on their axis throughout the entire ride rather than following a fixed orientation.
The ride was built by German manufacturer Mack Rides and opened at Toverland in 2012. It was part of a period when the park expanded its range of family-oriented attractions.
Dwervelwind sits within the Magische Vallei section of the park, an area designed around family visits. Riders of different ages share the same cars, which makes it one of the few rides where adults and younger children can experience the same thing together.
Solo riders need to meet a minimum height requirement, while smaller children may ride when accompanied by an adult. Check the signs at the ride entrance before joining the queue to avoid any wait for nothing.
The cars do not follow a set rotation pattern but spin based on how the weight of the riders is distributed. This means two groups riding the same seat on the same day can have completely different experiences.
