Built in 1893, this fort formed part of the Stelling van Amsterdam defense line, established between 1881 and 1919 to safeguard the capital.
The fort now functions as an Air War Museum, displaying exhibits about aerial operations over the Netherlands during World War II.
Visitors can explore the fort every Sunday from May through October between 11:00 and 17:00, with guided tours explaining military architecture.
Ancient willows growing around the fort date back to its construction period, creating a natural integration with the military architecture.
