Bergoss, Industrial monument in Oss, Netherlands.
Bergoss is an industrial monument in Oss featuring a three-section facade with different roof styles: a composite roof at the front, flat roof in the middle, and tent roof at the rear. The building retains original large windows with sliding sashes on all sides, allowing natural light to fill the interior spaces.
Founded in 1856, the complex received its present architectural design in 1919 under architect François Joseph Oscar Leeuw. This redesign coincided with the company's anniversary and represented a period of expansion and modernization.
The entrance displays a tile artwork showing scenes from the company's past, created by workers as a gift during the 1919 anniversary celebration. This piece reflects how employees marked important moments in the factory's story.
The site is viewable from the exterior and gives visitors a clear impression of the industrial architecture and proportions. Walking around the structure reveals the different roof styles and facade sections in their proper relationship to one another.
The directors' offices preserve original oak paneling in Neo-Renaissance style along with ornate fireplaces and parquet floors from the early 1900s. These rooms show a striking contrast between the building's industrial structure and the refined spaces reserved for management.
