Strand Horst

Strand Horst is a recreation area and beach on Veluwemeer Lake with broad sandy shores and ample space for different activities. The site extends across a large area with zones for water sports, sailing, and other outdoor pursuits.

The beach developed as part of major land reclamation projects in the Netherlands that created Veluwemeer Lake. These projects fundamentally changed the country's landscape and created new spaces for recreation and water activities.

The beach draws regular groups of water sports enthusiasts who train their skills and connect with others here. Designated zones for surfers, kitesurfers, and sailors create spaces where each group finds what suits them.

Visitors find showers, restrooms, parking, restaurants, and equipment rental on site. The facilities are well-organized and make it easy to spend time here for various activities.

The shallow waters here are particularly good for learning water sports, which draws beginners. An adjoining harbor provides space for boats and allows for longer outings on the lake.
