't Wild, Rural hamlet in Oss, Netherlands.
't Wild is a small rural settlement situated along the left bank of the Meuse River in a flat, open landscape. The hamlet features traditional Dutch houses spread across green fields and accessible footpaths that run along the water's edge.
The settlement was completely destroyed and burned following German SS evacuation orders in October 1944. Residents relocated and the hamlet was reconstructed at a new location afterward.
The rebuilt village reflects the architectural principles of the Delft school, incorporating traditional Dutch building elements into its post-war reconstruction design.
The hamlet serves as a good starting point for walking routes that explore the surrounding dike paths and neighboring communities. The flat terrain makes it easy to walk at any pace and suits visitors of all abilities.
The hamlet features a round chapel with a dome-shaped roof at Krommenhoek, where visitors leave messages and light candles at the dike's base.
