De Valkenier

De Valkenier contained multiple attractions for young children, including covered playgrounds, rollercoasters, and various carnival-style rides across its 10,000 square meter grounds.

Founded in 1934 by Jan Albert Otermans as Ontspanningsoord Natuurbad Valkenburg, the park started with a rowing pond and playground before evolving into a modern amusement facility.

The park integrated local entertainment through its mascot Snoopie the Clown, who performed shows and hosted mini-disco events for visiting families.

The facility offered two dining establishments, including a self-service restaurant and a fast-food outlet, along with a souvenir shop named Snoopie Shop.

De Valkenier maintained its status as a family-operated business for four generations until 2019, when Jeffrey Driessen became the first non-Otermans director.
