Stoker en Brander, Residential towers in Europapark, Groningen, Netherlands
Stoker en Brander are two parallel residential towers standing in Europapark next to the FC Groningen football stadium. Each tower rises to 80 meters height across 23 floors of apartment units.
The two towers were built between 2008 and 2011 on the site of the former Hunzecentrale power plant. They represent the conversion of an industrial area into a modern residential neighborhood.
The tower names recall the former power station that once dominated this location and shaped the area's industrial character.
The location is well connected by public transportation and sits close to Groningen's city center. The modern apartments include convenient amenities and easy access to surrounding services.
Architects Claus and Kaan designed these towers as new vertical landmarks for Groningen's skyline. The pair created a distinctive addition to the city where sports facilities and residential space meet.
