Stoker en Brander, Residential towers in Europapark, Groningen, Netherlands
The Stoker en Brander complex consists of two parallel 80-meter-high residential towers standing next to the FC Groningen football stadium in Europapark.
The construction of these towers began in 2008, with Stoker completed in 2010 and Brander following in 2011, replacing the former Hunzecentrale power station site.
The towers derive their names from the former Hunzecentrale power station, whose chimneys stood 40 meters taller than the current residential buildings.
Each tower contains 23 floors of residential units, offering modern living spaces with convenient access to public transportation and the city center.
Architects Claus and Kaan designed these twin towers to create new vertical landmarks in Groningen's skyline at coordinates 53° 12′ N, 6° 35′ E.
