Historisch Museum Het Palthe Huis

The Palthe Huis Museum displays a collection of artifacts in a 17th-century patrician house with preserved period furniture and decorative elements.

The museum opened in 1921 as successor to the Oldenzaalsche Oudheidkamer, receiving its current collection after Gulia Palthe's death in 1928.

The exhibition areas present the evolution of Oldenzaal from Bronze Age through Textile Period, including displays about regional traditions and customs.

Museum visitors can access both the historical Palthe family residence and the city presentation section through a newly constructed entrance built in 2018.

The museum houses the medieval restraint chair used in 1775 for the execution of Klaas Annink, known as the 'stoel van Huttenkloas'.
