Built in 1906 by architect Johannes Petrus Hazeu, this tower marked the introduction of a modern water supply system in the growing municipality.
The tower represents early 20th-century Dutch industrial engineering, with its construction methods reflecting the period's technological advancement in water infrastructure.
The structure underwent renovation in 2006, transforming its upper section into residential space spread across five floors while maintaining its external appearance.
Working in conjunction with a pump station on Berkstraat, this tower formed part of the first comprehensive water management system in the region.
