Beekbergen

Beekbergen is a rural village in Apeldoorn situated at the edge of the Veluwe region, where forests meet agricultural fields. The settlement spreads across the landscape with a mix of natural areas and residential zones.

The village functioned independently until 1818, when local authorities merged it with Apeldoorn for administrative purposes. This change shaped how the settlement developed over the following decades.

The Dutch Reformed Church stands as a central element in the village, while local markets and seasonal events maintain connections between residents throughout the year.

The village spreads out across open land with scattered residential areas, care facilities, and social services distributed throughout. Visitors can best explore the area by wandering through different neighborhoods on foot or by bicycle.

Several watermills once operated along the Oude Beek stream, including the Tullekensmolen facilities that produced paper for regional markets. A fire in 1872 marked a significant turning point for this local industry.
