DoeZoo Insektenwereld

DoeZoo Insektenwereld is an insect zoo in Leens that presents many insect species in controlled spaces where you can observe their natural behaviors, habitats, and life stages. The displays are arranged to show how these animals live and develop.

The facility began as a hobby project in 1998 and moved to a former camping site on De Wierde street in 2004 to accommodate growth. This relocation allowed the collection and operations to expand.

The facility serves as a care institution where people with disabilities participate in daily activities and supervised work programs within the space. This participation shapes how the place operates and feels each day.

The zoo is open Monday through Saturday from 10:00 to 17:00, with restaurant services available except on Mondays. You should check the hours before your visit since schedules can change.

The collection includes carnivorous plants and specialized animals like axolotls, bearded dragons, and American kestrels mixed in with the insects. This unusual mix sets the place apart from typical animal facilities.
