Kikkerachtbaan

The Kikkerachtbaan is a steel roller coaster at Duinrell amusement park near Wassenaar. It follows a double figure-eight path spanning 360 meters of track, reaching a maximum height of 8 meters and carrying 40 riders per cycle in 20 paired cars.

The attraction opened in 1985 as one of the first major rides at Duinrell, built by German manufacturer Zierer. It became a cornerstone of the park and helped establish its reputation as a destination for family entertainment.

The ride is named after a frog, showing how Dutch amusement parks enjoy adding animal characters to their attractions. Visitors notice this playful design choice throughout the park, making the experience feel more welcoming for children.

Children under 120 centimeters need an adult to ride with them, while taller children can go alone. The ride lasts just over a minute, so plan accordingly if you want to try it multiple times during your visit.

The ride uses a tire-propelled lift system instead of the typical chain lift, giving it a distinct acceleration feel. Many riders don't notice this technical difference, but it contributes to the ride's unique character among similar coasters.
