Memorials in Kennemerduinen

Eight memorial stones stand within the sand dunes of Zuid-Kennemerland National Park, marking locations where resistance fighters lost their lives during World War II.

The memorial stones were established in 1949 to commemorate over 300 Dutch resistance members who were executed by occupying forces in the Kennemerduinen area.

Each stone serves as a permanent reminder of the local resistance movement, with names inscribed to honor individuals who fought against occupation in North Holland.

Visitors can access the memorial stones through walking paths that connect to cycling routes throughout Zuid-Kennemerland National Park near Bloemendaal.
