Alstadhaug Church, Medieval stone church in Nesset, Norway
The rectangular stone structure features a nave measuring 20 by 12.5 meters and a square chancel of 8 by 8 meters dimensions.
Construction of Alstadhaug Church began in the mid-1100s, with dendrochronological studies indicating roof timbers date specifically to 1166-1167.
The interior walls contain Biblical murals from the 13th century, while the altarpiece displays detailed carvings by Johan Johansen from the 1650s.
The church maintains regular services for the Alstadhaug parish within the Stiklestad prosti deanery, offering seating for 238 congregation members.
Adjacent to the church stands Olvishaugen, an Iron Age burial mound spanning 55 meters in diameter and rising nearly 6 meters in height.
