Defence Musuem

The Defence Museum is housed in an arsenal building from 1860 within Akershus Fortress and displays items ranging from the Viking Age to modern times. The collection includes weapons, equipment, and clothing that document Norwegian defense history across centuries.

The collection documents Norwegian defense development since the 15th century, including the period under Danish rule. World War II takes a significant place in the exhibitions, showing how the country navigated that challenge.
