Røverkollen

Røverkollen rises 401 meters above sea level, featuring diverse terrain with nutrient-rich limestone layers and varied vegetation patterns throughout the protected area.

The summit contains five burial mounds from the Bronze Age, approximately 3000 years old, reflecting ancient burial practices on elevated locations overlooking the sea.

The area includes several stone cairns known as varderøyser, which stand as protected monuments representing Norwegian cultural heritage at high elevation points.

Visitors can access Røverkollen by taking the T-bane or bus to Grorud, then connecting to bus line 63 to reach the Røverkollen stop.

An 84-meter concrete telecommunications tower built in 1978 serves as both a domestic and international junction point at the summit.
