Studentsenteret

Studentsenteret is a student center in Nygårdshøyden comprising a swimming pool, training halls, bookstore, student offices, cafeteria, and auditorium arranged across three floors. These functional areas support the activities and daily needs of the student community.

The building opened in 2007 and replaced an older student facility to accommodate the growing student population. This new construction marked an important expansion of student infrastructure in the city.

The center displays artistic elements such as the 365 ceiling mirrors created by artists Tommi Grönlund and Petteri Nisunen, which shape the appearance of the interior spaces. This installation reflects the attention given to artistic design within the student environment.

The center is accessible on multiple days throughout the week and offers different facilities for various activities. It is helpful to check when specific areas are available, as usage varies depending on the time of day.

The auditorium called Egget seats 270 people and displays the artwork Eikebladet by Kurt Johannessen on its exterior wall. This artwork makes the venue visually distinctive and connects the architecture with artistic expression.
