Alabang

Alabang is an administrative district in southern Muntinlupa that has developed into a major commercial and residential hub in Metro Manila. The area combines office parks, shopping centers, and residential neighborhoods into one sprawling urban space.

The district emerged from agricultural fields and a livestock farm in the 1980s before urban development transformed the landscape. This transition created modern business districts and established it as an economic center for the southern metropolitan region.

The name Alabang originates from the combination of Alibangban trees and the Filipino word Abangan, reflecting the natural heritage of the area.

The area has multiple shopping malls and transportation terminals that serve as gateways to surrounding neighborhoods. Visitors should expect heavy traffic and crowded streets during peak hours.

The district maintains a population density of 8,800 inhabitants per square kilometer while housing multiple corporate headquarters and financial institutions.
