Marikina–Pasig Station, station on the Manila Line 2 (MRT-2)
Marikina-Pasig Station is an elevated railway station serving the LRT Line 2 near the border between Marikina and Pasig. It features two platforms on opposite sides of the tracks and connects residential neighborhoods with shopping centers and public facilities throughout the metro area.
The station opened in July 2021 after construction began in 2017 and faced delays from the COVID-19 pandemic and system integration issues. The project extended the line eastward by approximately four kilometers and added two new stations to the network.
The station offers bicycle parking and is accessible for people with mobility needs, with trains arriving every few minutes during regular hours. Nearby parking facilities at surrounding shopping centers allow travelers to drive part of their journey and transfer to the train.
During planning, the station was called Midtown Subdivision and then Emerald before receiving its final name in late 2021. These name changes reflect how the project evolved and grew in importance as a connecting point between the two cities.
