Immaculate Conception Parish Church

The Immaculate Conception Parish Church is a parish church in Jasaan situated on elevated ground, featuring brick walls on its lower section and wooden boards on the upper portions. The interior spans about 150 feet in length and 60 feet in width, with a modified layout that provides additional space for worshippers.

Construction of the present building began in 1887 under Father Juan Heras, drawing design inspiration from the San Ignacio church in Manila. The structure was designated as a national cultural treasure, marking its importance as a religious and architectural landmark in the region.

The structure blends local building materials with Spanish architectural traditions visible in its brick and timber combination. The way the space is arranged shows how the community adapted and used the building to gather together over generations.

The site sits on elevated terrain, so reaching the entrance involves some uphill walking. Wearing comfortable shoes is advisable when visiting to explore the building and its surroundings comfortably.

Four bells hang in the church towers, with the largest one bearing an inscription dating to 1854 and dedicated to Nuestra Señora de la Inmaculada Concepcion. This ancient bell is a reminder of devotional practices that have long roots in this community.
