Capitol Central, Commercial complex in Bacolod, Philippines
Capitol Central is a mixed-use complex in Bacolod, Philippines, that brings together government offices, a shopping mall, retail stores, restaurants, cinemas, and the Negros Museum on one site. The different sections are connected, so visitors move easily between public services and commercial areas within the same grounds.
The site originally served as the provincial administrative center for Negros Occidental, housing key government functions for the region. In 2011, Ayala Land acquired it through a public bidding process and redeveloped it into the mixed-use complex it is today.
The Negros Museum inside the complex displays objects and exhibits about life in Negros Occidental, from the sugar industry to local traditions. Visitors can spend time here to understand how the region developed and what shaped the daily lives of people in the province.
The shopping and dining areas are open daily, and most services are available throughout the day. Because the complex has several entrances and sections, it is worth taking a moment to get your bearings when you arrive for the first time.
Even though the site has been redeveloped commercially, the provincial government offices of Negros Occidental remain on the same grounds. This means that shoppers, moviegoers, and people doing official paperwork all share the same space on any given day.
