Solec Kujawski

Solec Kujawski is a city in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship situated on the Vistula River between Bydgoszcz and Toruń. It functions as an administrative hub while balancing urban and rural characteristics across its territory.

The city received town rights in 1325 from Duke Przemysł and experienced multiple shifts in control afterward. Polish, Prussian, and German administrations each left their mark on the settlement's character and development.

The name Solec comes from salt production, which once shaped the town's economy and character. Walking through the old town, you can sense how this heritage influenced the layout and development of the community.
