Jaz Czersko Polskie

The Czersko Polskie roller dam regulates water flow at the intersection of the Brda and Vistula rivers through a 22-meter-wide concrete structure with a steel cylinder.

Built in 1906 with joint funding from the city of Bromberg and the Prussian government, this water management system facilitated timber transportation through regional waterways.

The dam exemplifies industrial engineering from the early 20th century, featuring historical brick buildings and incorporating design elements that reflect the period's architectural standards.

The Regional Water Management Board maintains the dam's operations, ensuring consistent water levels for navigation and supporting local water intake and drainage systems.

The structure includes a fish ladder constructed in 1999 and remains the oldest functioning roller dam in Poland, marking the beginning of the Vistula-Oder waterway.
