Ostrowiec County is an administrative district in the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship in south-central Poland. The territory includes several municipalities and rural communities that together form a larger administrative unit.
The district was established in 1999 as part of a comprehensive reform of Polish administrative structures. This reorganization created new territorial divisions nationwide to modernize local governance.
The region maintains traditional local governance structures through six distinct gminas, each contributing to the preservation of regional administration methods.
When traveling through this area, regional roads connect the various settlements and municipalities within the district. Vehicle registration plates display the TOS designation, which identifies the county.
The city of Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski, the administrative capital of the district, is also an independent city municipality. This arrangement allows the city to operate its own administration while serving as the district's central hub.
