Mielec, Industrial center in Subcarpathian Voivodeship, Poland.
Mielec is a town in the Subcarpathian Voivodeship of Poland, located along the Wisłoka River valley. The townscape combines residential districts, factory zones, and smaller green areas near the riverbanks.
King Casimir IV granted town rights in 1457, while the Mielecki family encouraged the growth of local workshops until 1771. In the 1930s, aircraft factories were established that continue operations today.
The regional museum preserves aviation artifacts and everyday objects that show how local life changed with the factories. Outside the building, a retired aircraft stands as a reminder of the decades of production in the nearby plants.
Main buildings and services are concentrated in the center, while factory areas lie closer to the outskirts. Several parks and paths along the Wisłoka offer walking routes and places to rest.
The factories today produce helicopters and components for international aerospace programs, visible in the large hangars and logos of foreign companies. On some days, test flights can be heard overhead.
