Warsaw Arsenal, Royal fortress in Old Town, Poland

The Warsaw Arsenal is a two-story early Baroque building measuring 64 by 83 meters with a large internal courtyard and arched galleries on both sides.

King Władysław IV ordered the construction of this military structure between 1638 and 1643 to create suitable conditions for artillery development in Poland.

The Warsaw Arsenal houses the State Archaeological Museum, presenting extensive collections of artifacts from prehistoric times through the Middle Ages.

The Arsenal building stands at 52 Długa Street, near the Ratusz Arsenał metro station, making it easily accessible by public transportation.

During the Warsaw Uprising in 1944, resistance fighters defended this structure for 18 days before German forces burned it down in November.
